Lumpkid goes to Anime Fest
In celebration of yet another Lumpkid Birthday, the kidney-thieving sister accompanied her brother to Anime Fest 2009, braving hoards of otaku and cosplayers to geek out at the various Gundams, figurines, trinkets and tchotkes that a festival like this brings.
Armed with a media pass (woot!) I got to get a close up view of the cosplay competition and get snaps!
This year marks Lumpkid's fourth year and he's been doing well - particularly in the arena of hoarding fat. It's his own way of finding security in a ribless, unprotected home of my lower torso. He's been to Vietnam, Malacca (twice!) and Pulau Ubin. A bad back meant he was not as active as he should have been, but he can now touch his toesies, feel strong in his downward dog pose and comfortably do ploughs and shoulder stands.
He has also discovered the recipe for the Best Chocolate Chip Cookie The World, successfully made pretty and delicious cupcakes and against the screaming protestations from his cowardly owner, survived the heights, ropes and flying foxes at the Forest Adventures course.
It's been a great and eventful year, with many many good times with friends and plenty of great memories. Happy Birthday Lumpkid!
